A tablecloth reminiscent of embers refers to after-dinner conversation exchanges and conversations that stimulate the senses. I use the table as a communicative metaphor. With this I want to remember material bodies and their absence.

The exhibition Desterritorialización del Poder, aims to create a critical reading of our present through the identification of power relations in everyday space.
Spaces are built from the basis of relationships, values and beliefs of a society; they end up being mirrors capable of revealing who we are, beyond our fantasies. For example, Mexico is an environment defined by racial, class and gender discrimination in upper middle- and upper-class societies. Spaces can be read like textbooks; through them we can understand who we are and elucidate what happens among us. This way of reading the territory allows us to locate power dynamics outside of where we normally imagine them, outside of government offices, banking or corporate institutions, in the safe house of a drug trafficker, or in the headquarters of a union or political party. Power is a set of relationships that require atomizing the territory in order to eventually concentrate.
The proposal for the exhibition Desterritorialización del Poder aims to create a critical narrative of the territory through artistic pieces that individually show sites of atomized power. It builds a narrative that reveals a society beyond what it imagines of itself.
