Alegorías de la vejez

Esta serie de imágenes trata sobre mi abuela. Sobre su obsesión por volar, que se asemeja a la de una niña pequeña.
Al principio me motivó el retrato, pero con el tiempo el rostro fue perdiendo importancia, mientras que la imagen y la percepción de mi abuela se volvieron cada vez más interesantes: sus emociones, ilusiones y símbolos.
En la vida cotidiana, hoy en día a menudo no se tolera la vejez. Esto tiene que ver, por supuesto, con la vertiginosa velocidad del desarrollo tecnológico. Por esta razón, me decidí por el «antiguo» medio de la pintura, que, a pesar de todo, siempre seguirá siendo actual.

Allegorien des Alters

Diese Bilderserie handelt von meiner Großmutter. Von ihrer Besessenheit zu fliegen, die Ähnlichkeit mit der eines kleinen Mädchens hat.
Zunächst motivierte mich das Porträt, doch mit der Zeit wurde das Antlitz immer unwichtiger, während das Bild und die Wahrnehmung meiner Großmutter immer interessanter wurden: ihre Emotionen, Illusionen und Symbole.
In der Alltäglichkeit wird ein hohes Alter heutzutage oft nicht toleriert. Dies hat natürlich mit der wahnsinnigen Geschwindigkeit der technologischen Entwicklung zu tun. Aus diesem Grund entschied ich mich für das „alte“ Medium der Malerei, das trotz allem immer aktuell bleiben wird.

Allegories of Age

This series of images is about my grandmother. About her obsession with flying, which resembles that of a little girl.
At first, I was motivated by the portrait, but over time, the face became less and less important, while the image and perception of my grandmother became more and more interesting: her emotions, illusions, and symbols.
In everyday life, old age is often not tolerated nowadays. This is, of course, related to the insane speed of technological development. For this reason, I chose the “old” medium of painting, which will always remain relevant despite everything.
